Interim Finance
Temporary professional servcies
There are two reasons why credit institutions seek external support in accounting.
One is capacity: a vacancy or too many projects in parallel to day-to-day business.
The other is professionalism: a matter for which there is no reliable opinion internally, or a standard that no one in the company has yet applied.
Focus
on three specific areas
Accounting according to IFRS for credit institutions, with a focus on financial instruments and the connection between accounting and regulatory requirements. In three areas specifically:
- Banking products in SAP – Bank Analyzer, FPSL, and the accounting requirements from other source systems in a S/4HANA implementation
- Outsourcing of accounting processes – process descriptions, control design, training of new employees
- New product process – accounting assessment of new products, requirements for the IT processing and internal controls, test planning and acceptance by accounting
How we work
As an auditing firm, not as a recruitment agency
This means that we take professional responsibility for the result, work into your structures and present our opinions to your auditor. We do not customize systems, do not program or take on IT project management – there are better providers with whom we work regularly.
Forms of assignment: Project support with a defined time budget, assumption of a defined accounting work package, or professional second opinion on an opinion that has already been established.
Independence
We do not work for the auditor where we have been involved in accounting services. We clarify this distinction before accepting the assignment.
FAQ
Are you replacing our SAP consultant?
No. The roles are complementary: the implementation partner builds, we say what needs to be built from an accounting perspective, and check whether the result meets the requirements. In projects without this separation, the system logic ultimately decides on the accounting – and not the other way around.
What is the most common mistake in outsourcing?
The process is cut, but the control system is not taken into account. After that, the process works, but no one can prove that it is controlled – and that is exactly what both the supervisory authority and the auditor are looking at.
Does this also apply to outsourcing within the Group?
Yes. The regulatory requirements also apply to intra-group relocations. Simplifications are possible in the design, but not the fundamental applicability.
your next step
A preliminary talk of 30 minutes is sufficient to clarify the scope, date and fee framework – and to check in advance whether there are any obstacles to independence.
